Today, growing steel production, usually based on carbon, generates important quantities of CO2 worldwide.

Many markets, such as Metals, automotive and shipyard are expanding quickly and require substantial quantities of industrial gases.

Strengthened growth momentum

Air Liquide is taking part in several large-scale research projects in Europe and in North America, testing processes that use oxygen (so-called “oxy-combustion”) to minimize carbon dioxide emissions from industry.

Since the beginnings, Air Liquide has perceived social needs, therefore does not limit its operations only to the core activity. It actively reacts for such needs and through sponsoring or charity supports socially important projects.

Air Liquide is the technological partner of the Challenge Bibendum, organised by Michelin, which will be held from 14th to 17th November 2007, in Shanghai (China).

Air Liquide America Specialty Gases LLC, a 100% Air Liquide affiliate, has finalized the purchase of the assets of Scott Specialty Gases, Inc.
